Investigating the contribution of extended radio sources to the Epoch of Reionization power spectrum

We investigate the contribution of extended radio sources such as Centaurus A, and Galactic supernova remnants (SNRs) to our ability detect statistical $21\,\rm{cm}$ signal from Epoch Reionisation (EoR) with Murchison Widefield Array (MWA). These are typically ignored because they in highly attenuated parts MWA primary beam, however aggregate these have apparent flux densities $10\,\rm{Jy}$ on angular scales we expect signal. create bespoke multi-component 2D Gaussian models for SNRs simulate visibilities two snapshot observations. grid those then Fourier transform them respect frequency, averaging both spherically cylindrically produce 1D power spectra. compare simulated spectra expected spectrum. find that although beam pattern, collectively enough ($\sim10^4-10^5\,\rm{mK^2}\,\it{h^{-3}} \,\rm{Mpc^{3}}$) EoR significant modes ($|\mathbf{k}| \leq 0.1 h \rm{Mpc}^{-1}$) prohibit detection ($10^4\,\rm{mK^2}\,\it{h^{-3}} \,\rm{Mpc^{3}}$). $50-90\%$ must be removed order reduce leakage a level $10-20\%$ spectrum modes. The effects widefield will implications detectability future Square Kilometre (SKA).
